Andreas Kersten was born in Trier, Germany, and completed a dual degree program in Business Administration. His strong interest in people and in understanding what makes individuals successful in sales and leadership has shaped his professional career ever since.

He began his career in a trading company, where he quickly assumed leadership responsibility as Head of Sales. Following an extended journey around the world, he relocated first to Berlin and, in 2024, to Portugal’s Algarve region. Today, he lives and works between Germany and Portugal.

Since 2015, Andreas Kersten has been working as an Executive Search Consultant with PAWLIK. As a Partner, he is a member of the Executive Search team, advising companies across Europe on the appointment of strategically important leadership positions.

He specializes in recruiting senior commercial executives for medium-sized companies, particularly in the industrial and professional services sectors. His primary focus is on Managing Director and functional leadership roles in Sales, Finance, Operations, and Business Development.

His approach combines analytical thinking and entrepreneurial understanding with empathy, integrity, and a strong ability to assess people, corporate cultures, and organizational dynamics. His objective is not simply to identify candidates with the right qualifications, but to find leaders whose personalities and capabilities align with a company’s strategic objectives and culture.

His particular expertise lies in executive search mandates related to growth, succession planning, international expansion, and complex transformation situations. Based between Germany and Portugal, he increasingly supports cross-border assignments and the development of international leadership teams.

Andreas Kersten is licensed in the SCAN personality assessment and professionally trained in the application of psychometric assessment tools. He is also a certified communication and behavioral trainer, having completed his training at artop – the Institute at Humboldt University of Berlin.

Outside of work, he is passionate about sports, societal developments, the future of work, and philosophy. An enthusiastic surfer, he enjoys spending his free time with family and friends, preferably on or in the water.
